Well hello friends! How’re things with you as of late? There have been quite a bit of changes in my household lately. Both my kids are back in school, and I started a new job today. It’s my first time working outside the home in many years. I know my knitting time is going to be cut down quite a bit, but it is what it is. Another good reason to whittle down those WIPs (all eight of them) one at a time.
Let’s see, what to show you?
I’m working on a pair of socks for my dad. I loved Cassy’s version she made for her hubby, which she briefly shared how she made on this post. I started knitting away, and they’re looking quite handsome if I do say so myself, using Dragonfly Fibers Djinni Sock.
My knitting time has been cut down for another reason…this!
I think I have done cross stitch an impressive once or so in my life. This is the start of the Autumn Sampler from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. What fills in these cute squares is sent to you as a surprise over five weeks’ time, starting the first day of fall, I think. I like the element of surprise in this project, and I completely trust the aesthetic of its designer, Amanda!
The little leaf blew on my picture while I was photographing… I consider it an omen of lovely Autumn days ahead! ;)
Autumn is just about all I can think about right now. We are in the last hot hot HOT days of summer, bleh. I can’t wait for shawl weather. And the two most important shawls in my future are these:
Blissful, by Rose Beck, which I will be knitting out of my Brooklyn Tweed Loft in the Woodsmoke colorway. I think this may be the loveliest shawl I’ve ever seen. I literally gasped when I first saw it.
And, Germinate, by Kristen Kapur, which I will be knitting with Knit Picks Palette in a perfectly funky and Halloween-ish combo of colors. So excited!
I’m so ready to usher in the new seasons of nature and life. Good things must be ahead!
Much love to you knitting friends.
