A Special Knit

I’ve recently discovered that a family member near and dear to my heart is not doing well at all.  The news isn’t good.  So I figured maybe something handmade would make her smile or at least give her some comfort.  And knitting always gives me comfort.  I knit when I am stressed, upset, and it is therapeutic.  Of course I knit when I am happy as well.  Knitting makes things better, never worse, and is a welcome distraction.

I pored over all the yarns at my LYS to try to find that perfect yarn for the recipient.  I’ve never been so indecisive in a yarn store before!   But I ended up purchasing some Ella Rae Lace Merino, which is soft, squishy, and the colorway is perfect.

undefinedIt’s becoming a triangle shawl, nothing too fussy, I’m just knitting along with no pattern again.

undefinedEver find knitting therapeutic?

Knitting therapeutic? Most definitely. I plan on making that a cornerstone of my counseling practice someday.

I find it incredibly therapeutic! So much so, that it’s apart of my evening routine! I look forward to putting the kids to bed, getting a glass of wine, and knitting. It’s 6:30am right now, and I’m already itching for 8:00pm! hehe!
