Lit Knits E-Book Giveaway!

Today is super exciting because I am hosting my first giveaway, and no less, with a blogger/designer I admire very much.  If you have browsed the popular patterns on Ravelry within the last few weeks, you’ve probably noticed many of these lovely designs popping up.  If not, I am happy to introduce you to the literary-inspired brainchild of Audry Nicklin: Lit Knits!

I love the concept of the book… what better place to draw inspiration than from books filled with imaginary worlds and adventures?  I’m happy to share with you some of my favorites!

Oh, how I love Deep Sea Wanderer inspired by 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! Bobbled rivets and oceanic waves… so beautiful.  A perfect excuse to buy some Madtosh DK. ;)

I love the earthy tree-root cables all over Robin Hoodie. Though it’s styled for fellas, the smallest size is a 36″ bust, so I may just be making this one for myself!

Down The Rabbit Hole is laced with so much detail – from the pocket-watch (I adore that it’s “hidden” in the palm), to the rabbit, to the checkerboard patterning.  What a lovely gift these would be for an Alice fan.  In fact, I think any of these knits would be a beautiful gift paired with a fancy hard-bound edition of the book.

Of course I’m going to talk about the socks… there are two pairs in the e-book but I found the horseshoe motif of Black Beauty Rides On so endearing.  I have family members who own/love horses, it makes me think of them. :)

So Audry was awesome enough to offer a free copy of her beautiful e-book to one of you lucky folks!  All you have to do is take a peek at the gorgeous patterns (see them all here or here on Ravelry) and leave a comment below telling me your favorite pattern from Audry’s collection… and be sure to leave an email address or your Ravelry ID so I can put you in touch with Audry to claim your prize!  I will close the contest at noon central time Friday, September 20th, and announce the winner shortly after.  Yay!

If a hard copy book is more your style, there is a print version available too for pre-order.  The pre-order ends September 25, and if you order before then, you’ll also get the e-book for free (awesome)!

*Remember, only one comment per person, extras will be deleted! Thanks!*

Good luck everyone!!

I really do love those horseshoe socks! :) I used to be obsessed with horses when I was younger and I guess some of that still lingers. Anyway, books and knitting are two of my favorite things, so I love that these patterns combine the two. Thanks for the giveaway!

I love the Avonlea! The design is so perfect for Anne of Green Gables, which happens to be one of my childhood favorites! I’m not gonna lie, I used to pretend I was Anne… I need this shawl! Lol! Thanks, Bethany!

I love the Motoring Madness gloves. They are a great knit for men or women and I think they would be a fun gift to give. It was also surprising to see they were inspired by Mr. Toad – I loved those books when I was younger.

Oh I love Sail To Treasure Island it looks so lovely and could be quite versatile.
All of these patterns are awesome and remind me of some of my favorite books. Can you imagine rereading them while wearing the corresponding hand knit, LOVE

I clicked on Avonlea first because Anne of Green Gables was one of my favorite series when I was a kid, and sure enough, it’s a gorgeous shawl! I’d love to do some cozy fall knitting with that pattern. (Rav ID: princeka)

I can’t help but fall in live with ALL of the patterns and it is so very hard to pick a favourite. But since I have to pick, it would have to be the Down The Rabbit Hole mitts! They remind me of my beloved white angora rabbit that I miss!

Dana - September 16, 2013 - 4:35 pm

I bought some sock yarn in my mother’s favorite color and I have been looking for the right pattern. I just found it! I must make the Black Beauty Rides On socks for her. She loves horses. She had one many many years ago and was heartbroken when she died (of old age). She dreams of having another horse one day. I cant wait to see her smile when she gets these socks. Here’s hoping I get that e- book!
